WHERE'S THE DRAMA?

I’m a screenwriter, film-maker and musician based in Melbourne, Australia.

After an 8 year stint as a graphic designer, copywriter and director for various advertising agencies in Adelaide, South Australia, I began making music videos in 1993.

In recent years, I’ve been focusing on screenwriting. My first feature-length script, a biopic based on the life of 50s rock and roll singer Gene Vincent, was awarded Second Prize in the 2004 Nashville Screenwriters Conference script competition.

Alongside several other film projects, I’m currently developing a television series, ‘Balance Of Power’, with my co-writer Aaron Hawke, with funding from Film Victoria.

My two most recent films have been doing the festival rounds; ‘The Body Watchers’ was screened at the 2009 StKilda Film Festival and the  2009 Melbourne Underground Film Festival, and was awarded Best Australian Short Film at the 2009 SexyInternational Film Festival. ‘Mystic Eyes’ was screened at the 2009 Perth Revelation Film festival.

I’m also a film studies and screenwriting lecturer, and I curate the Screen Sect Film Society,which has run every Monday night since 2005.
